If you love cake, the colour pink and clean eating as much as I do, well then do I have a treat for you! Sweet Laurel bakery, a whole foods baking company in L.A., recently opened the most darling cake shop in Pacific Palisades, California and it’s so. darn. pretty. The owners wanted the space to feel “like stumbling into an English tea room in the middle of L.A.” The most gorgeous custom mural from Anewall, now available for purchase, brings a secret garden feel. And it’s decorated with tea cups they found in their dear friend Lauren Conrad’s garage for goodness sake! And did I mention that Mandy Moore loves their treats? Yup, Mandy Moore loves their treats.
Creative director Claire Thomas created a space that’s romantic and feminine but still modern and minimalist with plenty of cool factor. I mean, just look at those cherry blossom Cle Tiles on the bar! The color variation and handmade quality bring so much soul to the space.
Unless you’re planning to hop on a plane to California soon to try their goodies in person, I highly recommend baking their wholesome, paleo treats at home. You can find recipes in their cookbook or on their blog. I’ve made their Summer Berry Tart and it’s unreal. Creamy and coconut-y and absolutely beautiful, too.
